The Machin Collectors Club believes that our hobby
of philately is greatly enhanced when the opportunity is made available
to meet fellow like minded collectors. Very shortly after our formation
we established regular twice yearly meeting at a
central location in the UK near Rugby (at the junction 19 of the M1). This
makes accessibility fairly straighforward for those wanting to attend either
by car or train. We have just found a brand new venue at Dunchurch which
is just a few miles
south of Rugby.
This new building, which can only be described as
perfect for our needs, is situated in its own spacious grounds with ample
car parking facilities. It is all on one level and consists of the main
hall, a separate committee room (which opens into the
main hall), a lounge and full kitchen facilities.
Our meetings are usually attended by several dealers
including Mike Holt, Alec Withell, Arun Stamps (Tony Hender),
K.Holten (Arthur Alexander) and Condor Stamps (Paul Ecclefield).
There is ample room for members to display their own items for sale or exchange
and, naturally if you are wanting to buy
that special item there is a strong possibility that it will be here!
After lunch, at approximately 2pm, a live auction
is held usually consisting of about 60 lots from very rare items to
glory boxes - in other words something for everyone.
Our meetings start at 9am and finish at approximately 3.30pm. so why not
come along and have an excellent day out, meet other members of the MCC
- and fill some of those gaps - all in one day!!.
The next meetings will be on Sunday 22nd April 2007
We look forward to meeting you there!!
